Returning to (More Normal) Work

Businesses leaders across the nation have begun to have the conversation about returning to work. For BankOnIT, business has not slowed and work continued, but safety and well-being were a top priority.

BankOnIT provides IT technology ranging from internet services and network hosting to continuous security. Designed exclusively for the banking industry, nearly 200 people work to provide 24/7/365 support of the systems and client bankers that utilize BankOnIT’s services.

It was critical that the operations continue - with modifications. We wanted to do our part to respond to the public-health crisis and create an appropriate working environment for our employees.

We strategically repositioned our team members, with about half working from home. Of those who remained at our corporate campuses, we repurposed office spaces so that people had more space in between one another. In situations where teammates worked different shifts and historically shared equipment, we procured individual headsets, keyboards, and private workstations for each person. We also continued the tradition of providing free lunches, but instead of being served buffet style lunches are now delivered in individual, prewrapped portions.

The goal was to social distance while meeting the needs of BankOnIT clients who need their IT networks operating securely and reliably to serve their customers.

As conversations at banks move from SBA PPP lending to re-opening lobbies, BankOnIT is providing client institutions the flexibility they need to make these changes easier while also being prepared for a possible second round of COVID in the fall.

What does that look like for banks? More bankers may work remotely, employees may stay spread out, customers are likely to choose more electronic options instead of using bank lobbies or drive-ins.

The environment of how and where both us and our client institutions get work done is evolving. What this event has demonstrated is the flexibility and responsiveness that is native to BankOnIT’s Banker’s Private Cloud®. It is helping client financial institutions serve their communities more easily and more effectively than were ever possible with the old ways IT services have typically been provided.
